Amya Polytechnic College Davao BS Tourism Management Review

This unbiased review will help you decide whether to pursue a BS in Tourism Management or switch to another degree program.

I transferred from a tertiary school in the heart of Davao City. I completed my previous course in just one semester during the 2025-2026 school year due to a conflict with my work schedule. I have all the documents needed for evaluation at a new school where I wish to enroll. I thought that the following tourism and allied health degree courses are in demand abroad.

1. ‎BS Tourism Management

2. ‎BS Radiologic Technology

3. BS Medical Technology

‎I got so interested in BS Tourism Management that I searched on Facebook for a school in Davao offering the program. I found Amya Polytechnic College, Inc. at Tulip Drive, Ecoland, Davao City, near the Ecomed Wellness Center facility and just a few minutes away from SM Ecoland. I entered through the entrance gate and approached the female staff in the admission office. I told her I wished to enroll in the said tourism course. She then gave me a form and instructed me to proceed to the MIS office to create an online account on the school portal and then to the BSTM Program Head for evaluation.

In BS Tourism Management, there were 23 units in the first semester. The program head credited three subjects from my previous school, equivalent to 8 units of the course. I took only 15 units, paid a down payment, and was finally enrolled. I saw the remaining balance in my online account on the SMRS portal, which is divided into four exams for the whole semester.

‎There is also an annual physical examination required for BSTM and other allied health science degree programs, which can be done at the Ecomed Hospital, also owned by Amya Foundation, Inc.

Why did I choose BS in TOURISM MANAGEMENT?

‎This profession is highly in demand in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and European countries via the student visa pathway.

For example, after 2 years of working in a government agency or tourism organization in the Philippines, I would start processing the documents needed for travel abroad. There's no shortcut when working abroad, since I need to follow the step-by-step process to achieve my goal of having permanent residency in the countries I mentioned.

‎In the Department of Tourism, a Tourism Promotions Officer 1 usually earns salary grade 11, and the same applies to a Tourism Instructor in the prestigious state universities and colleges, with government-mandated deductions and benefits.

The class schedule for BSTM at Amyapci usually runs from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. My working time is from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, so I still have time to study and rest.

‎Being a working student, time management is needed. I should always be determined and humble because there are coworkers in the workplace who sometimes have bad traits:

All staff at Amyapci were very approachable. There's no entrance exam needed, but you are still required to undergo an annual medical examination for both the allied healthcare programs and the tourism management course. The classes started on July 20, 2026, and my new journey and hardships began towards my future.

‎I am now a proud Ampolian, dedicating myself to this 4-year BSTM degree course. Hopefully, I will be able to pass from prelim to final exams in the first to fourth year level, with OJT before graduation.

The road was not easy, and there were a lot of sleepless nights reading, studying, and sometimes crying for an actual in-class presentation on a given topic from Instructors.
