This unbiased review will help you decide whether to pursue a BS in Radtech or switch to another degree program.
I was a transferee from a tertiary school recognized by CHED in the heart of Davao City. I finished my previous course in just one semester for the school year 2025-2026 because I had a conflict with my schedule. I am currently a working student by night. I have all the documents for evaluation purposes for a new school where I wish to enroll. It comes to my mind about the following allied health science degree courses:
I got so interested in BSRT, so I searched on Facebook for a school in Davao offering the said program. I found Amya Polytechnic College, Inc. in Tulip Drive, Ecoland, Davao City, near the Ecomed Wellness Center facility and just a few minutes away from SM Ecoland. I entered through the entrance gate and approached the female staff in the admission office. I told her I wish to enroll in BS Radtech. She then gave me a form and instructed me to proceed to the MIS office to create an online account on the school portal and then to the BSRT Program Head for evaluation.
There is also an annual physical examination required for P1200 pesos in RadTech and other allied health science degree programs, which could be done at the Ecomed facility, also owned by Amya Foundation, Inc.
Why did I choose BS Radiologic Technology?
This profession is highly in demand in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and European countries.
After 2 years of working in a clinical and government hospital in the Philippines, I would start processing documents needed for travel abroad. There's no shortcut when working abroad, since I need to follow the step-by-step process to achieve my goal of having permanent residency in the countries I mentioned.
In a government hospital, a RadTech 1 usually earns from a salary grade 11, and the same with a RadTech Instructor in the prestigious state universities and colleges. In 2026, I think the entry-level RadTech will increase to a salary grade 15 with government-mandated deductions.
The class schedule for BSRT at Amyapci usually starts from 7:30 am to 12 pm. There are also a few subjects in the afternoon from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. My working time is from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, so I still have time to study and rest.
Being a working student is very hard, and I should always be determined and humble because there were coworkers in the workplace with all the bad traits:
Going back to all staff, from the admission, registrar, and the program head, were very approachable. There's no entrance exam needed, but with an annual physical medical examination, both the allied healthcare programs and the tourism management course. The classes would start on July 20, 2026.
I am now a proud Ampolian, dedicating myself to this 4-year BSRT degree course., Hopefully, I will be able to pass the Radiologic Technologist Licensure Examination administered by the PRC during the month of December.
